Thankfully Amani and her little brother and sisters were accepted into Australia and found safety. Anglicare is helping them with counselling, English lessons and has helped to house them with a loving family.

Although it was terrifying to leave their life behind in Aleppo, Amani and her siblings took the brave step to make their way to Jordan.
Amani took the gamble with the stranger, but it didn’t pay off. He took what little money they had and he and his wife beat Amani and her little brother and sisters.
Amani decided to have hope and faith and set off on the long journey to Australia with her little brother and sisters.

We cannot let these unfair policy’s and poor treatment continue. The people who have the least, need our help the most. I stand with Anglicare to say NO MORE to the poor treatment of the most vulnerable people in our society. Refugees that have been granted asylum should be greeted with compassion and should not have to suffer further discrimination. Australia is better than this.
